things to do before school starts:
webmail
Check your email! Your username and password should have been sent to you already by mail, just click on the webmail link at the top of this page and you'll be brought right there. If you haven't received it by the time you get here, go to the office of student and academic services and they'll set you up
Upass
You can get your Upass from Tara in the SUNSCAD office off of the student lounge. We got a deal with Metro transit and with your upass you can travel anywhere in the city on public transit and not have to pay execpt on link buses. Check out the services page for more info.
-loans
Your loan! Oh gosh, make sure you do this first if you have one. Don't forget. You can find your loan in the business office on the fourth floor of the duke block, granville campus. After that, you may have to get it signed by Bernadette in the OSAS on the second floor before you send it out.
To send your loan back, with your signatures on it, bring it to the post office with a void cheque, your sin card and a piece of government issued photo ID. Nothing else will do. It doesn't cost anything, but you will incur a late fee with NSCAD if you procrastinate too long...
-lockers
lockers at the granville campus are straight forward but just a little stressful. Lockers here are first come first serve. Show up with a lock and a piece of tape that has your name, and term on it and slap it on the first locker you see. Add a lock and you are done.
Lockers at the port campus are a little more complicated. To get one of these, you need to fill out a form that you can get from the security desk and a locker will be assigned to you.
-port pass
To get into the port after hours, you need to apply for a port pass. Its easy, all you have to do is get a form from the security desk at the port campus or from the SUNSCAD office at the Granville campus. Fill it out and have the technician in your area or your instructor sign it and return it to the security desk from 9-5 monday to friday. It can take up to 48 hours to get your card after applying, so be patient, full access to the building is just around the corner.
The cards will cost you $20 to replace or if you don't return them at the end of the year.
-id cards
Your id card is not just proof you exist, its also your library card and your pass to get into the school after hours.
Make sure to visit the library on the first floor to get a barcode for the back of your card, and to visit the Office of Student and Academic Services on the second floor to get your semester sticker every semester. To have after hours acess to the school at the Granville campus, you need one of those stickers for the semester you're in.

Your schedule is available in the OSAS office on the second floor. Its open 9-4.
