Because every year, students are elected to the Executive, the Union is able to consistently coordinate some great services. Each school year your Union fee is goes towards keeping the Executive providing these great services:

The SUNSCAD food bank is located in hallway between the student lounge and the deck on the 2nd floor. It is free and available to all students at NSCAD but you must register to use it to ensure further deliveries of food. Please pick up a registration form in the SUNSCAD office or the bulletin board in the food bank. The food bank is open from 9-5 pm most mondays through fridays. Although it wont keep everyone fed on a full-time basis, it can be a great aid when in need. We alsways need students to help with deliveries, cleaning and monitoring the food bank. If you are interested in helping out, please contact the VP cultural at cultural@sunscad.org
We have a separate page to talk about the advantages of ratifying your club with the Union. From use of the name of the school to applying for funding, being recognized by the union has much to offer. Check it out: here!

The U-pass is a student Metro Transit pass used to ride all buses and ferries in the Halifax Regional Municipality available to all full-time students. Every full time student pays 116.95 per academic year (september to April) for unlimited use of the buses and ferries; however, the metro link bus costs an additional $0.50 per trip. 2 lost U-Passes can be replaced for a $20 fee and 1 free replacement for a damaged U-Pass.
Each pass is individual to the student who receives it and cannot be sold. If abuse of the U-Pass is discovered, SUNSCAD has the right to disallows that student to have one. Please pick up your U-Pass at the SUNSCAD office as soon as possible. If you have any questions or comments, please call the sunscad office at 494-8127 or contact our resource coordinator at tfleming(at)nscad.ca.
